Logitech POP Series review: colorful, adorable keyboards and mice

Color has returned after a period of minimal designs. From phones to cars, distinctive new colors help products—and their owners—stand out. It is no surprise that people express their identity through the colors of everyday objects.
At the time of this review, Logitech POP Series had recently arrived in Thailand. Its bold keyboard and mouse colors immediately catch the eye. Daydream combines mint and purple for a dreamy feel; Blast mixes yellow, black and gray with a retro Game Boy Color mood; Heartbreaker uses lively pink with an energetic edge. With names this expressive, let us look at the products themselves.

POP Keys is a compact wireless mechanical keyboard with emoji keys on the right. Configure them first in Logitech Options, then send your feelings with a keypress. Its round, typewriter-inspired keys use tactile Brown switches. Light typing is less loud but not silent, while forceful or fast typing is more audible; the reviewer found the feel softer than some mechanical keyboards. The keys are rated for 50 million presses. There are 4 spare emoji keycaps, and both emoji and other shortcut keys can be reassigned. Connect by Bluetooth or the USB Logi Bolt receiver. Easy-Switch pairs up to 3 devices, selected from the top keys, with about 10 metres of range. It can even suit a compatible smart TV from the sofa. The included 2 AAA batteries last up to 3 years, depending on use. There is an on/off switch, automatic power saving and a low-battery indicator at the upper right.
POP Mouse is a colorful wireless mouse with quiet SilentTouch clicks, convenient for taking to a café. Its small body may not fill the hand, so long sessions can feel tiring. SmartWheel supports precise slow scrolling and fast scrolling. The top button opens the emoji menu or can be reassigned in Logitech Options. It connects by Bluetooth or a compatible Logi Bolt receiver, but the mouse-only package does not include a receiver. Without one, use Bluetooth; separate-receiver availability varies by time and shop. Easy-Switch pairs up to 3 devices, switched underneath. Range is about 10 metres. The included 1 AA battery lasts up to 2 years depending on use, with an on/off switch and automatic power saving.

Inside the POP Keys box is the keyboard. Our Logitech demo unit has English-only legends, while the Thai retail version has Thai–English keys. Underneath are the power switch, preinstalled batteries, receiver storage and setup instructions. Also included are 4 extra keycaps and a USB Logi Bolt receiver.
POP Mouse comes with its battery already installed and instructions.
After using both, Mo particularly enjoyed the keyboard's ASMR-like sound—not too loud or too quiet—and cheerful colors. App-specific shortcuts and macro-style assignments are useful for work, and the emoji keys are genuinely convenient and frequently used. The mouse is portable but small; someone used to a larger mouse may tire over time, as Mo did. Its very quiet clicks and automatically switching scroll wheel are excellent. For cuteness, the reviewer awards 100/10. The article lists a 1-year Thai service-center warranty.
